The art and literature of the Modernism/Avant-garde (including Expressionism,
Existentialism, Futurism, Surrealism, etc) and Postmodernism movements often bore an irreal and
experimental aesthetic which is as wondrously perplexing today in their subsequent revivalist
movements, sub-genre’s, and contemporary descendants as it was when first realized almost one
century ago. Each of these movements, previous and current, rejects traditional form and style,
demands freedom of expression, and distorts reality or completely invents alternative realities
with no regard to logic or the laws of physics. This irreal and experimental aesthetic can
sometimes be seen as raw and primitive or chaotic. It is often bizarre, strange, or even disturbing.
It is always exploratory, highly imaginative, and point blank fantastic.

Crossing Chaos Enigmatic Ink represents these creators who regardless of philosophical or
cultural differences are united by the fact that they turn their heads away from the mundane and
mediocre. Our primary focus is on innovative fusions of imaginative fiction and art. We welcome
submissions for...

ART-FICTION FUSIONS, illustrated novels, graphic novels: Illustrated novels need to have
art telling at least 33% of the story and must have been developed from page one with the art
included. All lengths considered. Please send first ten pages in any microsoft compatible format.
Include “graphic novel submission” in the subject line of your email.

POCKET NOVELS: No art required. We prefer tight, fast paced stories. 30 000 to 40 000
words is the general rule, but since we don’t like to follow rules, send in whatever you have. Send
synopsis plus your entire manuscript in doc or rtf format. The subject line of your email should
say “novel submission”. Unsure?? Select a few books from our catalogue or consider the work
and diversity of some of these prominent writers: Kobo Abe, John Barth, Samuel Beckett, Jorge
Luis Borges, William S. Burroughs, Philip K. Dick, William Gibson, Franz Kafka, Haruki Murakami,
Chuck Palahniuk, Thomas Pynchon, Tom Robbins, Kurt Vonnegut.

biographies for current underground, outsider, and lowbrow artists. Please send a short
biography and a web link to your work or small jpeg samples. In the subject line of your email,
type “spackle”.
